The brief
The owners of a former industrial loft in Brooklyn wanted to keep the building's raw character — exposed brick, generous volumes, tall windows — while making it genuinely warm and liveable. They had found us through our work and were entirely comfortable with a remote collaboration between New York and Paris.
Designing across the Atlantic
Everything was handled remotely. The clients sent dimensioned plans and a full set of photographs, following our survey guide; calls were scheduled on Eastern Time. From Paris, we developed the layout, the material palette and the lighting design, and presented the project in photorealistic 3D — so the owners could walk through their future home before any work began.
The design pairs the loft's industrial shell with tactile, refined materials: warm woods, brushed metal, soft textiles and a carefully layered lighting scheme that turns a large open volume into a series of intimate spaces. The result feels unmistakably designed, yet true to Brooklyn.
